Wreath-Making with Atelier Alicart Returns to Kelvin Rooms
Share
Adolfo Ramos Alicart has dressed Kelvin Rooms for Christmas for several years now, and his wreath-making evenings have become one of the fixtures of our festive season. We are delighted to welcome him back for two evenings this year: Monday 30th November and Tuesday 1st December, from 6 to 8 pm.
Who is Adolfo Ramos Alicart?
Adolfo is the founder of Atelier Alicart, a floral and visual design studio that works for commercial, retail and private clients from his home in Edinburgh. He began his career in creative design for fashion and retail, leading teams at Prada and L.K. Bennett, where his displays became known for the way they drew on art, literature and the natural world.
His love of plants and flowers has since become the centre of his work. He has created award-winning installations for Wedgwood at the RHS Chelsea and Chatsworth Flower Shows, and commissions for Penhaligon's, Pringle of Scotland, Condé Nast, L'Artisan Parfumeur, Sotheby's, TOAST and Timorous Beasties, among many others.
A Wreath-Making Workshop in Glasgow's West End
Adolfo guides each guest through the making of a wreath from start to finish, so that everyone leaves with a piece designed entirely by them, finished with the benefit of his eye for styling. This year he has developed the workshop further, so that those who have joined him before can take their skills on, while the evening remains suitable for complete beginners. There will be cake and fizz throughout, and a great deal of laughter, if previous years are anything to go by.
Where the Workshop Takes Place
The workshops are held at Kelvin Rooms, our award-winning sustainable lifestyle concept store on Otago Street in Kelvinbridge. The shop occupies a renovated Victorian furniture workshop above Perch & Rest café, and brings together more than eighty makers, ethical collectives and sustainable brands across four rooms. Guests will be making their wreaths in the same rooms Adolfo has dressed for Christmas in previous years.
Tickets and Booking
Tickets are £110 per person and can be booked online here or in the shop. Each class needs a minimum number of guests to go ahead, so bringing a friend helps to secure your chosen evening. Previous workshops have sold out quickly, and we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.
Please note that discount codes cannot be applied to workshops.
