Lucy Campbell paints at home in Scotland, surrounded by the hills and woods that give this painting its subject, and the card is printed from the original.
Campbell describes herself as a painter and picture-story-teller, and the distinction holds: the images carry a narrative rather than a decorative motif, which is why so many of them are bought to keep. She has been exhibiting and selling original paintings since 2003, and started printing cards from them at the end of 2012. The studio name, LupiArt, is taken from lupine, the Latin for wolf-like, and from Lupi-Lu, a childhood nickname.
The card is 15 x 15cm and blank inside, wrapped individually in a biodegradable cellophane sleeve and supplied with an envelope.
How to Care for Art Cards
Keep the card in its cellophane sleeve until you need it, as the sleeve does more to keep the printed face clean than the envelope does. When writing, rest the card on a hard flat surface so the pen does not emboss the reverse of the print. Store spares somewhere with steady temperature, because card stock takes up and gives off moisture with the room and a cycle of damp and dry is what eventually softens the fold.
