Marrakech Yellow Headband - 100% Silk

Les Belles Vagabondes was founded in France in 2018 by the designer Françoise, who draws each design by hand before it goes to print. The Marrakech headband is a long, narrow band of pure silk, 8 x 150cm, worn in the hair, tied at the neck, threaded as a belt, wound round a wrist, or knotted onto the handle of a bag.

The yellow is printed in India by traditional screen printing rather than digitally, a slower method that holds colour with more depth and variation across the length of the band. The dyes are AZO-free and contain no heavy metals or hazardous chemicals.

How This Scarf Is Made

The workshop that prints for Les Belles Vagabondes is a member of SEDEX, the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange, and is audited under the SMETA framework, which assesses labour standards, health and safety, environmental practice and business ethics across the supply chain. The brand works only in natural fibres, refusing synthetics in favour of silk, wool and organic cotton.

How to Care for Your Silk

Hand wash in cool water with a mild detergent, or have it dry cleaned. Silk loses strength when it is wet, so press the water out between your palms or in a towel rather than wringing it, which stretches the fibres out of shape.

Dry it away from direct heat and sunlight, both of which fade dye and weaken the fibre over time. If it needs pressing, use a cool iron on the reverse while the silk is still slightly damp.
