Romanian Enamel Mug

A proper enamel mug, in the cream and moss colourway that runs through our Ibili range. Good for coffee at the kitchen table, and tough enough to go in a rucksack for a day on the hill.

Enamelled steel has been the material of choice for camping and canteen ware for well over a century, and for good reason. It takes heat quickly, it holds no flavours and picks up no stains, and it survives being dropped in a way ceramic does not. The vitrified enamel coating is fused to the steel at high temperature, which leaves a hard glassy surface that wipes clean in seconds. At around 160 grams it stays light enough to carry all day.

Please note, as these are made in a small enamelling workshop, some pieces carry tiny imperfections such as exposed metal or small marks caused by the enamelling process, usually where the tongs hold the item. This brings a touch of rustic charm to the range and does not affect their use. To keep yours looking well, avoid prolonged soaking and dry it thoroughly after washing.

Handmade in Romania and distributed by Ibili of Spain. Manufactured within the EU, where labour law sets minimum standards for pay, working conditions, and holiday entitlement.
