This hand-painted matchbox opens to show a miniature nativity scene, made in Peru as a single piece small enough to stand on a shelf, a mantelpiece or a windowsill. The outer box is painted navy blue.
It is made by hand and imported by Siesta, a family-run Fair Trade business in Canterbury and a member of BAFTS, the British Association for Fair Trade Shops and Suppliers. Each scene is painted individually, so the details vary from one box to the next.
Storing a Painted Matchbox
Keep the box closed when it is not on display, which protects the painted figures from dust, and store it somewhere dry. The figures are very small, so it is best kept out of reach of young children.
Colour: navy blue
Made in: Peru
