Deer Christmas Decoration

This deer Christmas decoration is handmade in India in metal with a gold-tone finish, and hangs as easily on the tree as on a wreath or a wall. Deer and reindeer have belonged to Christmas since 1823, when the poem “A Visit from St. Nicholas” gave Santa a sleigh drawn by eight reindeer, and a deer has looked at home among the evergreens ever since.

Caring for Your Metal Deer

Wipe it over with a dry cloth now and then, and keep it out of damp corners, which can dull the gold-tone surface. Wrapped in tissue between seasons, it will keep its finish for many years.
