Felt Mouse Angel Christmas Tree Topper

This white mouse angel is made from wool felt in Nepal and designed in-house at Namaste, the UK Fair Trade importer, as the crowning piece for the top of a Christmas tree. She stands upright in a long gown embroidered with gold-threaded stars, with her wings open behind her and a golden halo above her ears.

The felt is made by hand from wool fibre, and because every topper is shaped and stitched individually, each one differs slightly in its proportions and the set of its wings.

She is made by a company established in 1994 as an economic development project, to bring paid work to women in urban and rural Nepal who were living in poverty and working in isolation from wider trade. It was the first company in Nepal to be certified by Fair Trade USA.

How to Care for Your Felt Tree Topper

Felt holds dust, so a soft brush passed over the gown and wings before she goes back in her box will keep her white. Marks can be lifted with a cloth that is barely damp, and the felt should then be left to dry fully at room temperature. Store her upright or well padded, so that the wings keep their shape from one year to the next.
