Vintage Christmas Cracker Card

The Vintage Christmas Cracker Card is a hand-finished card made from craft card by Vicki Brett, the illustrator behind Manymoon Fables, in her studio in Stroud. Her elves, dressed in red and green and gathered around a Christmas cracker, are drawn in the style of vintage children's book illustration, and a red banner across the front carries the words “Merry Christmas”.

Vicki draws each design herself before the card is printed and then finished by hand with touches of gold, which pick out the details of the illustration and catch the light when the card stands on a mantelpiece or a windowsill among the others that arrive in December.

Because that finishing is done by hand, the gold sits a little differently on every card, so no two are exactly alike, and we think those small differences are a large part of their charm. There is plenty of room inside for a proper Christmas message.

We stock Manymoon Fables because every card is drawn, printed and finished by Vicki herself, in a small studio in England.

Looking After Your Card

Keep the card flat in its envelope until you are ready to write it, so the fold stays crisp and the corners don't catch. Once it's on display, keep it out of strong sunlight, which will slowly fade the printed colours, and away from damp windows, where moisture can make card cockle.
