Angel Hanging with Bells

This angel is worked in iron with an aged finish, and beneath her hang strands of coloured beads and small bells that ring when the air moves. She is handmade in India and comes to us through Siesta, a family-run Fair Trade importer in Canterbury and a member of BAFTS, the British Association for Fair Trade Shops and Suppliers.

The iron is shaped and detailed by hand, so the texture of the wings and the fall of the beads vary slightly from one hanging to the next. Hung in a window or a doorway, the bells sound each time the door opens.

Caring for Iron and Bells

Iron rusts where moisture sits, so keep the angel indoors and away from condensation on cold glass. Dust it with a soft brush, and if the strands tangle, hold the angel from the top and let them fall straight before easing them apart.
