Agami Bordeaux & Pink - Mini Silk Scarf

Agami in bordeaux and pink is a mini scarf from Les Belles Vagabondes, 50 x 50cm of pure silk. Françoise draws five new designs twice a year, each of which is then printed in six to eight colour combinations, so the Agami motif exists in several quite different palettes.

It ties at the neck, sits on a wrist, holds back hair, or knots onto a bag handle.

How the Printing Works

The scarves are screen printed by hand in India. Each colour requires its own frame: a stencil of micro-perforated fabric stretched flat, with the dye pushed through and the layers superimposed until the design resolves. Colours are blended in the workshop from powders and natural gums, from a palette of over 500 shades.

After printing and processing, each scarf is cut by hand and finished with a French-style hand-rolled hem.

How This Scarf Is Made

The printing workshop is a member of SEDEX, the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange, audited under the SMETA framework covering labour rights, health and safety, environmental practice and business ethics. The dyes are AZO-free and contain no heavy metals or hazardous chemicals.

How to Care for Your Silk

Hand wash in cool water with a mild detergent, or dry clean. Blot the water out in a towel; wringing stretches wet silk permanently. Dry flat, out of direct heat and sunlight.
