Kaitoke Patina Bauble

This bauble is mouth-blown in India for Arthur Cameron and finished in an aged patina over a green base, with other colours showing through in places. It measures about 5cm across.

The finish is matt and slightly uneven, and it absorbs light where a polished bauble would reflect it, which gives a deeper, darker note among brighter glass on the tree. The mix of colour across the surface varies from one bauble to the next.

How to Care for a Matt Patina Bauble

Handle the bauble with dry hands and dust it with a soft brush, since a matt finish can take on a shine where it is rubbed repeatedly. Keep cleaning sprays away from it, as they can streak the patina. Wrap it in tissue for storage and keep it in a box away from damp.
