Zinnia Botanical Bauble

This bauble is mouth-blown in India for Arthur Cameron, part of the same group as Bollywood Christmas, and carries a design of ochre zinnias and green foliage within the glass. It measures 3 inches, about 7.5cm, across and hangs from a loop of natural jute.

The flowers are laid onto the surface of the blown glass and then sealed beneath a second layer, so they sit within the wall of the bauble itself. Bringing the two layers together leaves small bumps and indentations across the surface, and the design beneath can give the glass a slight haze in places. These marks come from the making, and they vary from one bauble to the next.

We stock three botanical designs together, and the zinnia is the warmest in colour of the three.

Looking After Your Botanical Bauble

Lift and hang the bauble by its jute loop, holding the glass as little as possible, since the outer layer is thin and shows fingerprints readily. A dry, lint-free cloth is enough to clean it. Store it wrapped in tissue in a box of its own, so that it cannot knock against other glass during the year.
