Exfoliating Jute Bath Mitt

A bath mitt woven from golden jute yarn, the same fibre used for sacking and rope. Jute is mildly abrasive, which is exactly what makes it useful here: it has enough texture to slough away dry surface skin without the harshness of a synthetic scrub.

The mitt shape means it stays on the hand rather than needing to be gripped, so it is easier to use across the back and shoulders than a cloth or a bar alone. Worked with a soap bar, it lathers well and leaves skin feeling smooth and looking brighter.

It is fully biodegradable, plastic-free and vegan, and can go in the machine when it needs freshening. Each one is woven by hand, so the texture varies slightly from mitt to mitt.

How to Use and Care for It

Wet the mitt, work up a lather with a bar of soap, and massage over damp skin in slow circles. Rinse it through thoroughly afterwards and hang it to dry: jute holds water in its fibres, and a mitt left folded in a wet corner will sour long before it wears out.

Machine wash occasionally on a cool cycle and air dry only. Avoid using it on broken or irritated skin.
