Santa Sleigh Vintage Christmas Garland

Nine scenes of Father Christmas driving his sleigh behind a team of reindeer run along this three-metre garland from Mamelok. Each scene is die-cut and embossed, around 125mm deep, and made in Great Britain.

Mamelok was founded in Breslau in the first half of the nineteenth century as one of the first commercial colour printers, and it became a British company in 1940. Its designs draw on the embossed scraps the firm sold in the Victorian era, and the range is still manufactured in the UK on acid-free paper.

Caring for a Die-Cut Garland

Acid-free paper resists the yellowing that ordinary card shows over the years, so the garland will keep its colour from one Christmas to the next if it is stored in the dark. Coil the string loosely and lay the scenes flat, and keep the box somewhere dry.
