Rejuvenating Face & Body Oil

Scott's Apothecary was founded by two sisters, Alice and Toni, who blend their products by hand in the south side of Glasgow. This face and body oil is built on cold-pressed almond and jojoba oils, with vitamin E and a blend of rose geranium, geranium, lavender and frankincense essential oils.

Almond oil is light and absorbs readily. Jojoba is technically a liquid wax rather than an oil, which is why it sits so well on skin and keeps for a long time without turning. Together they leave skin feeling soft and comfortable rather than coated, which makes this a good nourishing step in a daily skincare routine.

The scent is floral and resinous: rose geranium and geranium at the front, lavender beneath, frankincense giving it depth. Applying it slowly, with a few minutes of massage rather than a quick rub, turns it into something closer to a small ritual at the beginning or end of the day. It is vegan, contains no artificial fragrance and no parabens.

How to Use It

Warm a few drops between your palms and massage gently into clean skin. It can also be added to a plain moisturiser if you prefer a lighter application, or used as a cleansing oil: dampen the face with warm water, massage the oil in, then remove with a warm face cloth.

It works just as well on the body, and a slow massage into shoulders, arms or stomach before a warm bath is a pleasant way to use it. A little goes further than you expect, so start with less than feels right and add more only if the skin still feels dry. Oils applied to slightly damp skin spread more evenly and absorb faster than those applied to dry skin.
