Spirit of Lemuria is the work of Leanne Ta'Iki Anawa, an artist based in Glastonbury, and this is one of two A4 folk art prints we stock from her. The design shows three women gathered around an autumn fire beneath the phases of the moon.
The drawing imitates the bold carved lines and flat blocks of a relief print. Each one is produced on A4 parchment paper, which holds the ink with a soft grain and a warmer tone than a standard white art paper gives.
Prints are signed by hand at the lower edge and supplied unframed in a clear cello sleeve with a rigid backing board. A4 is a standard frame size, so it goes into a frame without trimming or a custom mount.
Leanne trained at art college and paints under the name Spirit of Lemuria, which also covers her greetings cards and an oracle deck she published herself. The two prints are designed as a pair and hang well together.
