Bird Milagros Hanging Ornament

This bird is cut from tin and finished in a brass and gold tone, with a ring on the back for hanging. It is made in India for Love and Honor Jesus and comes in two sizes: small, at 6.5 × 4 inches, and large, at 10.5 × 6 inches.

Birds are among the animals that appear in milagros, the small votive charms of Mexico and Latin America, and this piece takes its outline from that tradition. The larger size reads clearly on a wall, and the smaller sits well on a Christmas tree or in a group of hanging pieces.

Caring for Tin

Tin rusts if it stays damp, so hang the bird indoors and wipe it with a dry cloth. A thin coat of furniture wax, buffed in and then off, gives the surface some protection in a kitchen or bathroom.
