Catherine Tough Women's Lambswool Ankle Socks

Catherine Tough has made these lambswool socks for over twenty years, and they remain at the heart of her collection. She designs them in her studio in Hackney, East London, and has them knitted in Portugal, with a mix of returning and new patterns each year.

We have two designs this season. Diamonds in pink and red is bold and graphic. The fine stripe in dusky pink and yellow is quieter, a soft pairing that sits easily with most of a wardrobe.

Lambswool Socks for Women

The blend is 80% lambswool and 20% nylon and polyamide. The lambswool brings softness and warmth, and the nylon adds strength at the heel and toe so the socks keep their shape wash after wash. They are longer than the name suggests: 20 centimetres from heel to top, sitting just below the calf, with an elasticated top that holds gently.

Being midweight, they wear comfortably in boots and shoes and make good house socks on a cold floor.
