Fish Christmas Decoration, Silver-Tone Finish

This fish Christmas decoration is handmade in India with a silver-tone finish, and it hangs as well from a tree or a wreath as it sits on a mantelpiece among candles and greenery.

The fish is one of the oldest Christian symbols. Early Christians used it as a sign of their faith, and the Greek word for fish, ichthys, was read as an acrostic for “Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour”.

Because each fish is made by hand, the finish and detailing vary slightly from one to the next. We also have it with a gold-tone finish, and the two look well hung together. We source these from a supplier who designs them in the UK and has them made in small workshops in India, working directly with the craftspeople there.

Keeping Your Fish Bright

A soft, dry cloth is all it needs. Water and metal polish can dull or strip a silver-tone finish, so keep both away from it, and wrap it in tissue when it goes back in the box.
