This honeycomb snowman decoration is made from layered honeycomb paper that opens out into a rounded, three-dimensional snowman, complete with a festive hat and a row of buttons. It hangs from the tree, a shelf or a window, and when Christmas is over it folds completely flat again.

Honeycomb paper is made by gluing many sheets together along staggered lines, so that when the two outer covers are brought round to meet, the paper between them expands into a cellular, rounded shape. On this snowman a small magnet is built into the covers to hold the two sides together once it has been opened, so no clips or tape are needed.

We stock the larger size, which measures about 18 x 14 x 10cm when opened.

Our supplier for these works with established fair trade producers to design its Christmas range.

How to Store Your Honeycomb Snowman

Open and close the snowman gently, easing the paper apart from the centre, as the honeycomb cells can tear if they are pulled from the edges. Keep it out of steamy rooms and away from candles, and fold it flat into an envelope or a box at the end of the season, where it will keep its shape for years.
