This eco-friendly Loofah Kitchen Sponge and Scrubber from ecoLiving is made from 70% wood cellulose and 30% cotton, with a natural loofah top and natural cotton string. The loofah plant, also known as the sponge gourd, is a fruit that belongs to the cucumber family.
Once matured and dried, the fibrous interior is removed and sewn together to create a natural cellulose sponge. The natural fibres of the Loofah on this kitchen scrubber are tough enough to remove stubborn stains and grime yet gentle enough to use on delicate surfaces. It's the perfect eco dish-cleaning companion and is also effective for cleaning tables, countertops, tiles, sinks and other hard-to-clean surfaces. This sponge is a sustainable, eco-friendly and healthier alternative to traditional plastic sponges. It is 100% plastic free and biodegradable at the end of it's life, unlike conventional plastic cleaning sponges and scourers that release microplastics into the water systems and oceans.
