Nativity Sewn Garland

This garland tells the nativity story in sewn paper shapes along three metres of strong cotton thread. It is designed in Glasgow by East End Press and screen printed by hand on both sides in Jaipur, India.

The shapes are cut from paper made from recycled cotton waste, which takes screen-printed colour densely and gives each piece some body. Printed on both sides, the garland looks finished from wherever it is seen.

Caring for a Nativity Garland

Hang it away from fires and candle flames, and keep it dry, since damp softens recycled paper. After Christmas, lay it loosely in a box so the shapes stay flat for next year.
