Robin Christmas Garland

Ten robins, each perched among holly, are strung along three metres in this garland from Mamelok. The figures are die-cut and embossed in Great Britain and finished by hand, and each measures about 170 × 175mm.

Embossing presses the printed card between a pair of dies to raise the robin's breast and the points of the holly leaves into relief. Mamelok began in Breslau as one of the first commercial colour printers and now makes its whole range in the UK, where the garlands are still finished by hand.

How to Care for Your Robin Garland

Hang it out of reach of candle flames and away from radiators, since dry card catches easily and curls in heat. Take it down by the string and lay it in tissue in a shallow box, where the robins rest flat. Kept dry, the colours and relief will last for many Christmases.
