Lucy Campbell is a Scottish painter, and this card reproduces one of her best known images: a small girl with butterfly wings alongside a Clydesdale horse. It is one of the two designs her studio sells most of, and it is the one customers most often buy several of at once.

Campbell has been exhibiting and selling original paintings since 2003, and began printing cards from them at the end of 2012. The studio name, LupiArt, comes from lupine, the Latin for wolf-like, and from Lupi-Lu, a nickname she had as a child. Horses and deer are a standing theme in the work, alongside wolves, birds and the woods she paints in.

The card is 15 x 15cm and left blank inside, wrapped individually in a biodegradable cellophane sleeve and supplied with an envelope.

How to Store Greetings Cards

Lay spare cards flat in a drawer or a box rather than upright in a rack, since a card standing on its lower edge for months will curl along that edge and stop sitting square in its envelope. Keep the envelope with the card, because envelope paper yellows at a different rate once separated and a fresh card in an aged envelope looks odd. A cool shelf away from a radiator is better than a warm one, as heat dries the fibres and makes the fold brittle.
