Wild Twin Greetings Card by Lucy Campbell

Lucy Campbell is a Scottish painter who works from home, and this card is printed from one of her original paintings. Inside the front it carries three lines from the poem Heed the Call by Ange Woolfall, which is where the painting takes its title.

Campbell has been exhibiting and selling original work since 2003, and began printing cards from her paintings at the end of 2012. Her studio name, LupiArt, comes from lupine, the Latin for wolf-like, and from Lupi-Lu, a nickname she had as a child. The wild and its creatures run through almost everything she paints.

The card measures 15 x 15cm and is left blank inside. It arrives individually wrapped in a biodegradable cellophane sleeve with its envelope. The square format matters more than it sounds: a painting printed on an upright card has to be cropped to fit, and a square one does not.

Caring for Printed Art Cards

Write on the card in a dry room and give fountain pen ink a moment to set before you close it, because card stock that has absorbed any moisture will let a line feather. Store spares flat instead of standing them on a shelf, where the lower edge takes the weight and begins to curl. Keep them out of direct sun, since printed inks fade at the margins first.
