Wolf Mother Greetings Card by Lucy Campbell

Lucy Campbell paints at home in Scotland, and this card reproduces one of her original paintings: a dark-haired woman cradling a wolf in the forest.

Wolves run through a great deal of Campbell's work, and her studio name says as much. LupiArt is taken from lupine, the Latin for wolf-like, and from Lupi-Lu, a nickname she had as a child. She has been exhibiting and selling original paintings since 2003 and began printing cards from them at the end of 2012, so each card carries a painting that existed in its own right first.

The card measures 15 x 15cm and is left blank inside. Each one arrives individually wrapped in a biodegradable cellophane sleeve with an envelope. The square format is part of why we chose these: a square painting printed on an upright card has to be cropped to fit, and here nothing is lost.

At 15cm square, the card fits a frame made for a 6 x 6 inch print without any trimming.
